NEW BRUNSWICK:

2012 NBCA 79

In 2012 NBCA 79, Mr. C pleaded guilty to sexual assault and luring a child on the internet.

He was sentenced to three years’ incarceration, and a 20-years’ registration as a sex offender.

The appeal was related to whether Mr. C should have received a mandatory lifetime order to register as a sex offender due to the multiple convictions for sexual assault. However, the court held that there was no right of appeal against such an order and quashed the appeal.
