SELECTED CASE LAW

BRITISH COLUMBIA:

2008 BCPC 130

In 2008 BCPC 130, a dentist pleaded guilty to voyeurism after hiding a camera in the wastebasket of his office bathroom, reportedly to prevent office supply theft. The camera captured foot-age of one of his female employees using the bathroom. She discovered the camera and re-ported it to police. At trial, the court found that Mr. L was under a lot of stress and expressed remorse for his actions. Noting that civil litigation was pending, the court held that a 12-month probationary term was a fit sentence.
