BRITISH COLUMBIA:
In 2017 BCPC 153, the accused, a 29-year-old male, was a friend of the complainant’s younger brother. The complainant was in her forties and lived with her 17-year-old daughter. While get-ting undressed in her bathroom, she noticed a camera hidden behind a plant that the accused had placed there. She retrieved the camera viewed a video of the accused placing the camera in the bathroom and images of her disrobing. The images were not transmitted or distributed. The accused pleaded guilty to voyeurism and was sentenced to a suspended sentence with 2-years’ probation.
